Mirwaiz hails Nawaz Sharif’s stand on Kashmir Print

altJehlum Post News/Srinagar/May 10, 2015/Hailing the efforts of Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to highlight the urgency to resolve the Kashmir dispute at international fora, APHC Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Wednesday said that the recent meeting of PM Sharif with UN secretary General Ban Ki Moon at Doshanbe, Tajkistan wherein he stressed upon the world body to implement its resolutions on Kashmir was a welcome development. APHC Chairman said that the Kashmir dispute was the oldest unresolved dispute on the UN agenda, and it was the moral responsibility of the world body to play its role in solving the dispute. Mirwaiz said that the conflict ridden  people of Jammu an Kashmir always believe that a meaningful  dialogue between India Pakistan and the people of J&K could be the way forward

towards the resolution of the 68 year old problem which would mitigate and end their suffering. But unfortunately the Hardline posturing by India and its refusal to engage with the other two stakeholders has led to a deadlock, and as such third party intervention between the two countries to resolve this issue is inevitable. As such, Mirwaiz said that it is the duty of the UN to come forward and play its role in this regard. Meanwhile APHC delegation led by senior Hurriyat leader Musadiq Adil visited the house of Altaf Ahmad Sheikh at Sopore and condoled with the bereaved family. While extending their condolences and solidarity with the bereaved family, the delegates prayed for the deceased soul.
