Mirwaiz hails Pak’s support to ‘Kashmir movement’ Print

February, ‘The Kashmir Solidarity Day’,” the Hurriyat (M) statement reads. The two were discussing the current political scenario and various aspects of the movement in Kashmir. During the meeting Mirwaiz expressed thanks and gratitude on behalf of APHC and the people of Kashmir to the people and government as well as all the political and religious parties of Pakistan for their continuous support to the Kashmiri’s movement for the exercise of right of self determination and told the High Commissioner to convey these feeling to the people and the government of Pakistan.In the meeting Hurriyat Chairman said that where people of Kashmir are thankful to Pakistan for its support on moral, political and diplomatic levels they also are hopeful that this support will continue till the final resolution of Kashmir issue. Mirwaiz also conveyed to the High Commissioner that Hurriyat was aware of the Pakistan’s efforts made from time to time to raise and seek support for the cause of Kashmiris at International fora like United Nations, OIC, Non Aliened Movement, Common Wealth and SAARC in order to put the cause of Kashmiri’s before the international community in the right perspective. He also said the people of Kashmir have offered since 1947 and are still offering great sacrifices for the achievement of their basic right the right of self determination and during this period Pakistan has also made countless sacrifices for a just and equitable resolution of Kashmir dispute adding, the seven decade old tense relations with India too has basis in Kashmir dispute. On this occasion High Commissioner of Pakistan conveyed an assurance of behalf of the prime minister of Pakistan Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharief to the Hurriyat Chairman that the government of Pakistan will continue its moral, political and diplomatic support to the people of Kashmir till a just and equitable resolution of Kashmir dispute is found. He further conveyed to Mirwaiz that Kashmir issue has the first preference in all the pending issues between Pakistan and India and Pakistan is making all possible efforts to resolve the issue on priority basis. He further said that Pakistan highly regards the sacrifices of Kashmiris and inclusion of Hurriyat Conference was essential in any dialogue with India on Kashmir. High Commissioner also lauded the efforts made by APHC at local and international level for the settlement of Kashmir issue and said that Pakistan considers these efforts very useful and valuable.
